Addressing mind-set issues (change your mind-set, change your life)



The following is a Wikipedia definition of mind-set: “Set of assumptions, methods, or notations held by one or more people or groups of people that is so established that it creates a powerful incentive within these people or groups to continue to adopt or accept prior behaviors, choices, or tools.”


Many people mistakenly think that their thoughts are real! This is not true as our thoughts are shaped by our previous experiences, both good and bad, which affected our current mind-set. In order to change our life, we need to first change our thinking, then change our behaviours in order to become more successful. This is because we often limit our chance of success due to ‘mental barriers’ that we have picked up from the past. Addressing mind-set issues starts with eliminating (or at least reducing) our negative thinking.

One of the greatest discoveries of the 21st century was that, unlike other species, humans are able to think about what we are thinking about – and change it! This is really powerful! We are much more in control of our destiny than we once believed we were. This is why, by addressing your mind-set issues, you can create a ‘new reality’.

Science has proven that your thoughts can create chemical reactions that keep you addicted to patterns and feelings―including ones that make you unhappy. However, once you are aware of this, you can start to change (if you want to!) If you don’t want to change and improve your thinking, and, ultimately, your life you are likely to have a ‘fixed mind-set’. The opposite of this is having a ‘growth’ mind-set. This is when you love learning new things, you want to improve your life and you are open to others’ views and are willing to be flexible in your own. By taking this approach you are well on your way to addressing any mind-set issues that you may have.
